  • home

So i closed on my duplex last week!   The circumstances leading up to finding this home were extraordinary.  Upon viewing dozens of multi family homes and duplexes through out Dover this winter, i found that they were either overpriced or in terrible shape.

On this one day in March, i was trying to get closer to a realtor sign in order to catch the phone number when i saw "for rent" in a window of a nice cape style home near by.    I thought to myself, i should find out what it looks like inside and see what he is asking (in order to get comparisons.  So i called and left a message.   That night, the man called me back and asked if i had time that night to check out the place.  I reluctantly said i would meet him at 7 although i was tired and busy with other things.

After talking with him for almost two hours i mentioned i was really in the market to buy, he paused and decided to sell the home to me off the market!  Just goes to show that some of life’s best opportunities often show themselves in the least likely of situations.   Maybe some day i'll have the funds to furnish it ;)

  • So new years was ok.   Saw the Jumbo Circus peanuts with friends.   The band will almost always put on a good showing.   Woke up the next day to rain and decided to check out the doppler in an attempt to drive somewhere with clearing.   It looked at though the mountain region was sunny so i immediately decided to drive to Bretton woods for a half day of skiing.   The weather up there was not exactly sunny but at least there was skiing.  The conditions were icy, 20 trails, and not many people.  Most had already headed home from the long week or weekend.   I decided to stay at the summit hotel at attitash..   Hit the steam room, had dinner, and then went down the street an open mike night at a small micro brew place.   The guitarist was playing songs across the board from creed and beck.  there was a drum set on stage so i went up and offered to play, he handed me sticks and we played for almost 2hrs.   How i miss playing for a crowd.   We played great together and began to really click on timing changes.

President Ford sounded like an intelligent individual.

  • This is me last year off the
pipe.)  I'm going to swap out another picture soon but figure this
    one is good inspiration.
Last year I had four or five Christmas parties lined up and this year
there is Ziltch.   Maybe i'll crash some house with a lot
full of cars yielding cheese cake and a casebox of
    schlitz.

I'm thinking of a vacation spot and came across the vancouver
islands:  Here we have some decent fishing.

  • Had Ry over for pong last night and i schooled him 8 of 9
games.   Hope he doesn't just give up
coming over for matches, but i think he likes the competition.

The office is a two hour episode this week.  I don't think i watch any TV in the summer
besides the red sox and golf.  I wonder
what it would be like to live year round in a sunny warm environment.  I honestly don’t think I would miss winter.

Although i’m going to try and embrace winter this year with
    skiing and hockey.

The new neighbors in my duplex are all right.  Three UNH engineering students who keep
inviting me over for drinking games; I will for a few sessions soon enough.   I lent them ping pong balls that I won’t ask
    for back.

I’m going to let the market simmer before looking into a
house or duplex of my own.

    http://www.brettonwoods.com/brettonwoods/contactus.cfm  my home
    base for skiing.
Need to compare pricing between the multi-mountain pass or a pass at brettonwoods.

next time i'm in SanFransisco i'm going to try to hit http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/deals_packages/index.htm

  • There's a new Crepe restaurant in Dover where Jakes breakfast place used
to be located.   Actually had my 1st crepe ever there this morning
(open 10:00-8) with some coffee; it was excellent!  They also have
an assortment  of paninni's (not sure of that spelling)  trying one of those next.

I have my skis picked out: Blizzard 160 IQ's with bindings at a great
price.   Now i'm on to ski boots.  The rest of the gear
i can improvise with what i already have from a couple years
    back.
Besides the swank lodge, I'm told Wildcat is the place to go for
excellent trails and conditions when the snow falls.   The
goal is to have enough skill to ski the ravine this spring - ya we'll
    see.

  • oj's book

    So i was watching Anderson
360 last night and caught the latest on Oj's book 'This is what happened if I
    were to..."

Among others, they had Ron Goldman's Dad and the male
attorney prosecutor from the trial in 96', (wonder what happened to Marsha
Clark – she aged 10 years from that trial)
So the general consensus was that
OJ was doing this for money and maybe some spotlight (mostly money)  They wanted people/bookstores to ban the purchasing
and avoid watching his interview on fox.
The lady interviewing OJ on Fox this week is either one of the
publishers or writers, and no one can believe this is being endorsed.

OJ is being called a narcissist, scum bag for profiting from
the slaying of his wife and Ron Goldman.  So
let's say he's not  guilty, and I truly believe without a doubt
that he is guilty, he writes a book with this title to profit from this
    trial 12 years
later and opens the wound (so to speak) with the families, and his kids?   That is truly a sick bastard.    Everyone
is sure the profits will fillter through OJ's accounting system so as the Goldman’s won't profit.

Is this a fictional confession after the fact, in his own
words? – Not likely, he will probably try to shed light on how it couldn’t have
been him.   But maybe justice will prevail, and he will
write something contradictory that will get in indicted to the superior court–oops..again,
    not likely.

  • Borat

Saw the controversial film with ‘Borat’ last night and have
to admit I laughed pretty hard, although some of the humor was pretty trashy.  He is definitely fearless in this movie.  One scene is completely over the top and I have
    to wonder what was staged.

I think out I’m going to bring my laundry to the cleaners
and have it washed and folded – lazy!!  I
just don’t have the time this week and I’m completely out of normal
clothes.  I’m beginning to wear things at
the bottom of my dresser from last year.

I need to find out when there is actually going to be snow
on some of the peaks.  I’m so ready to start
    skiing this year!!
