  • Peter Jennings seeing is believing

In wake of the UFO sightings within a small Texas town last week,  i'm watching 'Seeing is Believing' tonight on  the National Geographic channel.   Peter Jennings has just touched upon the thousands of commercial airline pilots who have logged sightings of unexplained aircraft in the skies.   I have always been intrigued by aliens since reading "incident in Exeter" when i was younger.   This story took place near my parents house that involved an abduction and local police chasing some kind of orb one night in the 1950's.   Nowadays, you can view hundreds of believable pictures and video of UFOs online.

So unless our government is testing some crazy aircraft that the general public is unaware of, it appears to me we have some pretty overwhelming evidence of alien visitors from another galaxy.   I wonder what these aliens are up to?  Are they trying to find a new vacation getaway, getting ready to take over earth, just curious, or using some resource from mother earth?    Makes me think of the Jane's Addiction song "We'd make great pets", referring to us humans would make great pets for alien beings.  I need to see Mars attacks again, movie is hysterical.

  • ski report 1/1/08

The conditions were amazing  at two
mountains i visited over the long weekend.   The 1st was
    Bretton
woods that offered a good variety of novice and
    intermediate terrain and
wildcat, a far more extreme experience.  Wildcat is traditional
New England skiing with more ungroomed, narrow, steap runs.

The ticket at Bretton woods was $23 for a night pass and Wildcat was $39 for a
half day.  The conditions at Wildcat on day two were snow and wind, which
made for even tougher negotiating on the bumps.   The next stop will
be something closer so i can spend a full day to hone in on my skills.

  • Well my prediction from 11/20 has already come
to fruition.   We have new seen over 3 feet of snow before the Winter
    has officially arrived.

I've picked up a used pair of K2's with a very
attractive looking pair of used boots for under $300.   I figure
there's not point in buying a new kit for $600 when i haven't skied in over 5
    yrs.

Jake loves the snow and has become used to Daddy always wanting to go
sledding.     I forgot how much fun sledding is when the conditions
are right.   I have to find a sled with higher rails so we don’t wipe
    out as much.

  • Jake is so funny

So i was sipping on an ice coffee at 7:30 last night and i said to my 3 1/2 yr old son,
"you know, if i drink anymore coffee today, i just might turn into a
coffee bean."   My son looked at me with big eyes and said
    with a sense of concern,
"Daddy, if you drink more coffee today, you might turn into a Jelly
Bean?"   So to put his mind to rest about daddy turning into
a Jelly bean, and told him not to worry, i was only
kidding.   A moment later he responds,
"Daddy, if you turned into a jelly bean, i would eat you."

I've decided i have to start writing these down.

  • First snow of fall 07

We are seeing the 1st of the snow today!    It seems appropriate i'm going to see Warren Millers film tomorrow night to really get excited for the ski season.   I wonder if this will be the year if finally get skis?   None of my friends seem to know jack about the quality of the brands.

My prediction is that we are going to get dumped on this year..   Just like there are patterns with light snow fall every ten or so years, the pendulum will swing the other way for mass quantities of the white stuff soon.   I'm ready.
